Claire Leslie-Turnbull (she/her)

Coordinator, Programs
Team

Claire is MusiCounts' Programs Coordinator, currently based in the Eastern Townships of Quebec! She believes in the profound impact that music has on the lives of youth and the communities around them and she is so happy to be a part of an organization that strives to make music education more accessible! Claire's musical journey first began listening to her mom playing and teaching the flute. She then decided at the ripe age of two years old that she too was going to become a flutist. And the rest is history! Claire went on to study music performance in university, acquiring a Bachelor's degree from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, a Graduate Diploma from the University of Montreal and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Longy School of Music! Over the years she has had the chance to perform with orchestras and ensembles, and teach with music for social change organizations throughout Canada. When Claire isn't playing the flute, writing music, or teaching you can find her crocheting, working in her garden or reading a really good book!
