THE MAGGIE HERMANT BAND AID FUND

Maggie loved all kinds of music and often attended the school musical performances of her beloved extended family. The reality we face, however, is that far too many school music programs in Canada are being eroded or eliminated due to funding cuts. This is why The Maggie Hermant Band Aid Fund will be so impactful.

Over the next 3+ years, the Fund will supply a minimum of six in-need schools with enhanced Band Aid Grants of $20,000, fully equipping those schools with musical instruments and protecting their music programs. Each grant of musical instruments is a longstanding legacy as the instruments can last up to 20 years, benefiting hundreds of children and magnifying the investment made through the donations.

The legacy program came together after we received a substantial, cornerstone donation from Meredith, Brian and Heather Cartwright, along with the dozens of generous donations from family and friends. In addition, all donations made in Maggie’s memory were matched through the MusiCounts Leadership Circle. With this match, the Maggie Hermant Band Aid Fund now stands at an extraordinary $153,000.
