Maximilian S. Nchama
IN MEMORY OF MAXIMILIAN S. NCHAMA
August 19, 1978 - May 15, 2021
"Maximilian "Max" Nchama was well-known to and much loved by family and friends in his hometown of Cornwall, as well as his friends and colleagues in public relations and communications circles in Toronto.
Although he began studying classical piano performance and music theory at age 4, it was not until later in childhood that he abandoned the confines of sheet music and traditional learning methods in favour of improvisation, aided by his sense of perfect pitch and obsessive love of music in general. Max was an introverted extrovert and extremely modest about his playing, but those who were fortunate enough to hear him play would agree that his skill was a gift that was shared selectively but lovingly.
An insatiable music fan of a diverse array of artists from Rachmaninoff to Radiohead and Beethoven to the Beatles, Max could spontaneously create a variation on a whistled motif in the style of Glenn Gould or Tori Amos and he did it with a joy and brightness that only a beautiful, luminescent, and ingenious soul like him could.
Please help us perpetuate Max's joy for life, love of music, and creative energy by helping young people in the Toronto area develop their musical passion.
