ObsequiousV4 was a Canadian DJ that was an inspiration at a global scale. He considered himself a virtual reality time machine robot DJ. Using Virtual Reality and his technical expertise, he changed the way people thought about the mash of technology and the love of music.

Obseq got into music at an early age by playing guitar covers and his original work. He dabbled in music production for a few years and then took a break to focus on computer technology, circuitry, pyrotechnics, and robotics. He was always curious on how things work and are put together. He has made 3D printed trinkets that light up that he has sent to friends. He's even documented his work on building a robot!

During the pandemic, he hopped on VRChat which is a Virtual Reality social platform, and he got to know a few friends. The group found out there were rave communities buried within VRChat and started attending their events. These events and rave worlds rekindled his love of music. The group would meet in a map called VOLT Dance club where he would play music and play with all of the effects including lights, lasers, flames, and more. Seeing other DJs perform and talking to his friends inspired him to get his own DJ deck. He started practicing non-stop the moment he got his deck. Eventually he started performing his own show every Friday night where friends and curious people joined and partied. His DJing took off and he started performing at places like DDVR, Rizumu, 7th Dimension, Shelter, VR_Egypt, Magenta, Fishbowl, Vanguard, and more that include Europe, North America, and Asia. He eventually started his own group called Computer Club and had a VR world made where you partied inside a computer case while surrounded by colorful code like the matrix.

His music tastes and visual performances were out of this world. He played multiple genres including but not limited to midtempo, dubstep, hardcore, trance, house, metal, and more. He was known to mash different kinds of music, press every button on the decks, and play wild combinations of music and effects. He was a big fan of Hatsune Miku and he showed this by having lit up ties on his head when he was starting out DJing. Eventually, his gear evolved into a full on gas mask and satellites on his head that lit up all around along with fog and lights going off in his room that he could change on a whim with buttons on his wrist that he self-designed and controlled. He built his own self tracking gear using SlimeVR so that everyone could see him in VR move around with full range of movement and expression.

His work inspired many more people in the global rave community to learn how to DJ, produce, and enjoy music, even beyond the physical barrier. His community believes that a donation to MusicCounts would represent Obseq's values in providing inspiration and the tools necessary for music education and development in youth.
