TD Expands Youth Access to Music During JUNO Week and Beyond
mars 30, 2026
National Impact through MusiCounts and local support of Hamilton Music Collective will help more youth access music education, inspiration and career-building experiences
As rising costs put music programs out of reach for many young Canadians, TD is marking its 15th year with the JUNO Awards by funding new access to music education and opening the door for youth to experience Canada’s biggest night in music firsthand.
This year, TD is donating $650,000 to MusiCounts to support more inclusive, accessible and sustainable community music education programs for youth across Canada. TD is also supporting the Hamilton Music Collective (HMC) to give local students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend Canada’s biggest night in music and experience the industry up close during JUNO Week.
Together, these efforts reflect TD’s belief that music can open doors, helping young people build confidence, develop skills and imagine new possibilities for their future.
“For 15 years, the JUNOS have celebrated the artists, voices and communities shaping Canada’s music landscape,” said Michael Armstrong, Vice President, North American Brand and Sponsorships, TD. “This year, we wanted to mark that milestone by doing more to support the next generation of creators and music leaders. Through our support of MusiCounts and Hamilton Music Collective, we’re helping more young people access the power of music, both through ongoing education and through unforgettable real-world experiences.”
TD’s donation to MusiCounts will help expand access to music education for young people in communities across the country, helping remove barriers and create more opportunities for students to explore their creativity.
“Access to music education can be transformative for young people, helping them build confidence, connection and a sense of possibility,” said Kristy Fletcher, President of MusiCounts and COO of CARAS/The JUNO Awards. “TD’s support will help us reach more youth with programs and resources that can have a lasting impact in communities across Canada.”
As part of TD’s support in Hamilton, students from Hamilton Music Collective will attend The JUNO Awards, giving them a rare chance to witness the country’s biggest music celebration firsthand and feel closer to the future they could one day be part of.
“For many young people, seeing themselves reflected in spaces like the JUNOS can be incredibly powerful,” said [NAME, TITLE], Hamilton Music Collective. “TD’s support gives our students an inspiring opportunity to experience the energy, creativity and possibility of Canada’s music industry up close.”
TD’s support for Canadian music also extends across the JUNO platform, including as title sponsor of the TD JUNO Fan Choice Award, the only JUNO Award voted on by fans. TD is also bringing back the TD JUNOS Debut Program to celebrate first-time nominees and is continuing its support of South Asian Music Recording of the Year, helping shine a spotlight on the diversity of talent shaping Canadian music today.
By combining fan engagement with meaningful community investment, TD’s 15th year with the JUNOS is about more than celebrating music, it’s about helping more young people across Canada see a place for themselves in its future.
