Vancouver, BC - The Elevate Music Project, an initiative dedicated to showcasing local emerging musical talent, is thrilled to announce the finalists for its highly anticipated 2024 finale event at the Vogue Theatre on March 7th. With a strong emphasis on community engagement and charitable giving, this year's event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music and creativity.

After months of competition and talent showcases, the Elevate Music Project is proud to reveal Nette, BADMNY, and Temia as the exceptional finalists vying for the coveted first place spot. All three of the finalists will be provided with prize packages curated to help bolster their music careers. Prizes include return flights to Toronto provided by MRG Travel to perform at Canadian Music Week, cash prizes ($2500 first place, $1000 second place and $500 third place), gift cards to Long & McQuade, a run of merch printed at Capital T Branding, recording time at Echoplant Recording Studio and more.

About the finalists:

BADMNY

Emerging from humble beginnings as a busking band along the sun-drenched beaches of the west coast, BADMNY swiftly ascended to local festival stages and sold-out theaters within a year. Infusing elements of Rock, Funk, and Electronic music, BADMNY has crafted a distinct sonic identity, characterized by their captivating showmanship and infectious grooves. Comprising three dedicated musicians, BADMNY is poised to captivate audiences far and wide in 2023 with the release of their debut single, "BLACK WIDOW," as they continue to share their unique sound with fans across the globe.

NETTE

Nette's musical journey began in Vancouver, Canada, where her storytelling and smooth vocals gained attention. Her bubbly presence and vulnerable yet optimistic songs highlight personal struggles and self-discovery. As an advocate for women in music, she's paving her way as an artist, songwriter, and producer. With over 200K followers on TikTok, her debut single "Feelings" and subsequent releases have garnered thousands of streams and international listeners. Collaborating with Velveteen Music on "I Need an Adult," she continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Stay tuned for her upcoming music in early 2024!

TEMIA

Temia, a South London rapper, blends British and Canadian influences seamlessly in her music. Her exceptional flow and captivating songwriting abilities have earned her recognition on over 40 stages, including major festivals like the Junos. Since her debut in late 2019, she's showcased her talent alongside artists like Ja Rule and NSG, garnering attention from esteemed platforms like CBC Radio and SiriusXM.

Adding to the excitement, the Elevate Music Project is proud to partner with MusiCounts, Canada's leading music education charity, to raise awareness and support for music education initiatives across the country. A portion of the proceeds from the finale event will be donated to MusiCounts, contributing to their mission of ensuring that all children and youth have access to music education. A special addition to the finale will be a performance by MusiCounts' 24 Karat Jazz band, featuring students that have benefited from their program.

The 2020 Elevate Music Project winner, Noble Son, will also be returning to the stage as both a judge and a performer. Noble Son’s win back in 2020 was a full circle moment for the artist having worked at the Vogue Theatre as a bartender when he first moved to the city. Performing on the prestigious stage during the Elevate finale was a dream come true and one he’s since repeated after opening for Dan Mangan’s sold out show back in December. He will be joining Danielle McTaggart (lead singer of Juno Award winning group Dear Rouge), Lindsay McPherson (Executive Director of MusicBC), and Ryan Worsley (producer and audio engineer of Echoplant Recording Studio) on the judges panel.

"We are thrilled to showcase the incredible talent of our finalists and to support the important work of MusiCounts," said Adam Vickers, Elevate Music Project co-founder. "The Elevate Music Project is not only about celebrating music but also about giving back to the community and nurturing the next generation of musicians."

The Elevate Music Project finale event will take place at the Vogue Theatre on March 7, 2024. Audiences can expect an electrifying evening of live music, dynamic performances, and meaningful contributions to music education initiatives across Canada.
