MusiCounts thanks Bell Media

July 7, 2026

MusiCounts could not be what it is today without the support of our donors, partners, and community. Music is what drives us all — whether you grew up with music, work in the industry, or are simply a music lover. That’s why every July, we spotlight a variety of people who make music education accessible for youth across Canada.

We talked with Dayna Bourgoin from Bell Media, who is Industry Relations for iHeart Radio Canada and is the National Music Director for Pure Country. Bell Media has been supporting MusiCounts since 2015.

As one of our longest-standing partners, what has made Bell Media continue to support MusiCounts?

Bell Media continues to support MusiCounts because we know so many artists and colleagues in our industry who discovered that passion because someone handed them an instrument, or gave them a chance in a music class. That's why Bell Media's partnership with MusiCounts is so meaningful. We really believe in supporting the Canadian music ecosystem, and that starts long before someone gets on a stage or radio. It starts in classrooms where kids are discovering creativity, confidence, and a way to express themselves.

Do you have any words of encouragement for anyone who wants to get involved with MusiCounts?

One of my favorite parts of my job is watching a new artist have that breakthrough moment. MusiCounts reminds me that every one of those artists started somewhere, and often it was in a school music room with a teacher who believed in them. If you've ever been moved by a song or had music helped you through a tough time, then you get why this matters. Supporting MusiCounts is really about giving young people the chance to have those same experiences. Whether you donate or volunteer or help spread the word, you're investing in the next generation of musicians, creators, and music lovers. Bell Media is proud to support MusiCounts and help bring music education to schools across Canada.
