It’s time to apply for the 2021 MusiCounts Band Aid Program! We invite schools to submit applications for up to $15,000 for musical instruments, equipment, and resources to help deliver much-needed music programming for students.

MusiCounts' mission is to make music education sustainable, accessible, and inclusive by providing instruments, equipment, and resources. The MusiCounts Band Aid Program funds schools that most urgently need our support, whether it be to refurbish an aging and insufficient instrument inventory, or to help supply equipment for a brand new music program. MusiCounts Band Aid Program grants are best-suited to schools that are in the most urgent need of new musical equipment, serve high-needs and/or under-represented student communities, and those that have strong plans in place to utilize the requested materials. Teachers, administrators, and/or school support staff at any school in Canada are welcome to apply to support an existing music program, or a music program that needs our help to go from dream to reality.

The role of music education has evolved during the pandemic, particularly in supporting the wellness needs of students; the music classroom can be a brave space for young people as they navigate these changes. The MusiCounts Band Aid Program can support schools seeking to deliver progressive programming that aligns with the needs and interests of students and contributes to their wellness. The program supports a broad range of approaches to music education, and funds can be used to purchase any kind of instrument.
