Kristy Fletcher, President of MusiCounts, will be recognized with the Impact Award at Billboard Canada Women in Music 2026 on Tuesday, November 24, at Rebel in Toronto. The award recognizes her leadership and impact in expanding access to music education for young people nationwide.

Kristy joined MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity, as Executive Director in 2016 and has served as its President since 2021. In 2025, she also became Chief Operating Officer of CARAS, home of the JUNO Awards.

In September, MusiCounts announced a historic $1.4 million investment through its School Music Funding Programs, helping 96 schools across the country strengthen their music programs at a time when school budgets are under pressure. The investment comes as the charity prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027. Since 1997, MusiCounts has awarded nearly $22 million in support of music education in Canada.

Please join us in congratulating Kristy on this well-deserved honour! Her leadership helps advance MusiCounts’ mission, alongside the dedicated educators, students, donors, and partners who make this work possible. Help us continue bringing the power of music education to more communities across Canada by making a donation today.
